Drink your veggies!


Specifically, drink a green drink a day! As inspired by Kris Carr, and when embarking on my health journey many years ago, I discovered the benefits of consuming alkaline green drinks daily.


One of the best ways to sneak more veggies into your day is by juicing. In our house, we love to juice:

  • cucumber

  • celery

  • kale

  • spinach

  • beets - roots and leaves

  • fennel

  • silverbeet

  • mint

If we're super time-pressed, we go for a homemade lemon/spirulina drink. Spirulina is a micro-algae and packed full of energy-boosting chlorophyll and iron. It's a powerful liver cleanser and, when consumed regularly, will give your skin a beautiful glow and make your eyes pop too!


What's not to love about that? Yes it does taste a bit pond water-ish at first, but thankfully the sharpness of the lemon takes the edge off spirulina's distinct aroma and taste! Simply juice half a lemon or so and add to a mug of warm water with a teaspoon spirulina powder stirred in. You can also add a teaspoon raw honey to enhance the flavour and health benefits.
